Hyderabad: BRS Legislature Party Whip and KP Vivekananda said the newly opened Bachupally flyover was a result of the previous BRS government’s efforts. He accused the Congress government of merely inaugurating projects initiated during the BRS regime and taking credit for them.

After inspecting the flyover at CMC Nizampet Circle on Tuesday, Vivekananda said the project was executed under plans conceived and launched by the erstwhile BRS government. He alleged that the Congress government had not initiated any major new infrastructure project during its tenure and was instead taking credit for works that were already underway or completed.

The BRS leader said repeated pressure from his party, including raising the issue in the Assembly, had helped expedite the completion and opening of the flyover. He also criticised Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy for inaugurating the project virtually from Miyapur, calling it an insult to the people of Quthbullapur.

Vivekananda stated that the government had only renamed projects executed under the Strategic Nala Development Programme (SNDP) and Strategic Road Development Programme (SRDP), while neglecting Hyderabad’s existing infrastructure needs. He cited delays in the Suchitra-Kompally flyover project and accused the government of focusing on proposed future developments while overlooking current urban requirements.
