Hyderabad: The Department of ENT & Head and Neck Surgery at Continental Hospitals organised a two-day National Conference and CME in Laryngology at Continental Hospitals, Gachibowli.
The conference focused on the latest advancements in managing unilateral vocal fold paralysis, early glottic cancer, and new-age surgical techniques for laryngeal disorders. It featured globally acclaimed faculty, including Prof. Carsten Palme from Chris O’Brien Hospital, Sydney and Dr. Jayakumar Menon from Trivandrum.
Unilateral vocal fold paralysis is a condition in which one vocal fold loses mobility, causing persistent hoarseness and, at times, swallowing difficulty. Early glottic cancer, if not detected promptly, may spread locally and complicate treatment.
Individuals who smoke, consume alcohol, or experience hoarseness lasting more than three weeks are advised to undergo early laryngoscopic evaluation.
Dr. Guru N. Reddy, Founder and Chairman of Continental Hospitals, highlighted global advancements in ENT, Head & Neck Surgery and encouraged young ENT surgeons to embrace emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, tissue regeneration, 3D printing, biologics, and robotic techniques to advance clinical excellence.
