CM held a review meeting on the problems faced by contract lecturers in government junior colleges at Pragathi Bhavan here on Sunday
Hyderabad: Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao has decided to give an opportunity to eligible contract lecturers to work in their choice of vacant posts available in government junior college in the State. He considered their requests and instructed the Education Department officials to prepare necessary guidelines as per the existing rules and regulations.
Chandrashekhar Rao held a review meeting on the problems faced by contract lecturers in government junior colleges at Pragathi Bhavan here on Sunday. Education Minister P Sabitha Indra Reddy and Rythu Bandhu Samithi chairman Palla Rajeshwar Reddy brought to the notice of the Chief Minister the various issues being faced by the contract lecturers of government junior colleges.
The Chief Minister pointed out that the State government took several measures for the welfare and benefit of the contract lecturers since the State formation. While attempts to regularise their jobs could not be realised due to court cases, the State government has doubled their monthly salaries, he pointed out. The payment of full salaries has been enhanced from 10 months to 12 months per year.
“The government is also giving them the service benefits including an increase in their leaves and extended facilities like casual leave and maternity leave. The government will bring in more measures for the welfare of these contract lecturers within the frame-work of rules and regulations,” he assured.
Transport Minister Puvvada Ajay Kumar, Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar, CMO Principal Secretary S Narsing Rao, Principal Secretary for Finance Ramakrishna Rao, CMO Secretary Rajasekhar Reddy and others participated.
