They wanted eight hours duty, health facilities and leaves for the TGSP personnel. The protesting women demanded the State government follow the police policy of Tamil Nadu and Karnataka States. The TGSP personnel should be allowed to serve at one place for at least five years and the number of leaves in a month should be increased, they said.

Due to the frequent change of postings, the children were facing difficulties in their studies. The women lamented that their husbands were forced to stay away from home for longer periods and it was having an adverse impact on the families and children, they said.

In Warangal’s Mamnoor, several police constables from the Mamnoor Fourth Battalion staged a protest in uniform in front of the Battalion Commandant’s office, demanding implementation of a the ‘Ek Police’ system.

The police personnel raised slogans demanding to eliminate differences in the police department policies. They demanded a single police system on the lines of the one being implemented in Tamil Nadu, where the State recruited special police who after a certain period, are taken into law and order and civil policing. They squatted in front of the Battalion Commandant’s office for over one hour before returning to their barracks. On October 22, the wives and family members of battalion constables staged a protest in front of the battalion maingate and even tried to take out a rally, but senior police personnel convinced them to withdraw the protest.
