Court staffer booked for sexually harassing female staff in Telangana’s Bhadrachalam

Kothagudem: A junior assistant working at the Judicial First Class Magistrate court in Bhadrachalam was booked by the police on charges of sexually harassing a female contract staff.

The accused Satyanarayana was charged of stalking and sexually harassing a data entry operator who joined duties at the court a couple of months ago. The complainant in her petition to the police on March 13 stated that the accused used to speak with her in vulgar language describing her body.

She said that the accused told her to telephone her often asking to take his support financially and in availing leaves besides promising to regularise her job with the help of the district judge if she cooperated with him. Recently he allegedly touched her inappropriately.

When the complainant shared her plight with the fellow female staff, they confided to her that they had also faced the same problem from Satyanarayana.

Based on the complaint of the woman, Sub-Inspector of Police G Vijaya Lakshmi registered an FIR against the accused under Sections 74 (criminal force against a woman with intent to outrage her modesty), 75 (sexual harassment) and 78 (stalking) of BNS. Investigation into the matter is underway.
