Cradle placed on the premises of Sishugriha in Sangareddy district on Wednesday
Sangareddy: As a number of girl children were abandoned across the Sangareddy district during the last couple of years, the District Welfare Department had placed a secrete cradle on the premises of Sishugriha in Sangareddy for people to leave or drop off their ‘unwanted’ baby girls.
District Welfare Officer Radha Padmavathi said they decided to place the cradle as two children were abandoned at different places in the Patancheru Assembly constituency in the last three months. Since ants had bitten a baby badly, the child was admitted to a hospital for three months to save her. To avoid such incidents in the future, the Welfare Department placed the cradle to help people leave ‘unwanted’ babies.
