Khammam: Launching a scathing attack on the Congress government and Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy for their lack of action and accountability to pressing issues people were facing in the State, BRS leader and MLC K Kavitha on Sunday expressed her disappointment over the government’s failure to review the crop damage caused by hailstorms.

During her tour in Khammam district, she pointed out that the government had scant regard for the farmers hit by the untimely rains, despite the fact that the district was being represented by a Deputy Chief Minister and two Ministers.

Farmers across Telangana were grappling with soaked paddy grains and mango crop damage. Yet the government had not taken steps to address their plight, she said.

Kavitha described the situation as unprecedented and demanded compensation of Rs 20,000 per acre for affected farmers.

She highlighted the Congress party’s nationwide protests following ED cases against Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi, contrasting it with Revanth Reddy’s silence on the matter.

She urged people to question government officials and Congress leaders, emphasising that no scheme was being implemented effectively.

Kavitha also pointed out the deplorable state of government hospitals and the incomplete implementation of the Rythu Bharosa scheme and loan waiver for farmers.
