Custodial death: Re-postmortem of Mariyamma conducted

Following the court orders, a team of medical officers conducted the re-postmortem after exhuming the body from the grave at Komatlagudem of Chintakani mandal in the district.

Khammam: A re-postmortem of Ambadipudi Mariyamma, who died in police custody at Addagudur station under the jurisdiction of Rachakonda Police Commissionerate in Yadadri-Bhongir district, was conducted on Friday.

It may be noted that the High Court, hearing a plea over the custodial death of the woman, had on June 24 ordered a second autopsy while instructing the Judicial First Class Magistrate of Aler to inquire into the custodial death.

Following the court orders, a team of medical officers conducted the re-postmortem after exhuming the body from the grave at Komatlagudem of Chintakani mandal in the district. The autopsy was conducted in the presence of a magistrate.

As per the High Court orders, the re-postmortem report would be submitted to it in a sealed cover, officials informed. Chintakani Tahsildar Tirumalachary and other officials were present.
