Hyderabad: The Cyberabad Cybercrime police helped a man, who fell victim to a cyber fraud, to get back Rs.11 lakh that he lost to an online gaming company.

In July this year, Syed Asgar Ali had approached the Cybercrime police alleging his eight-year-old grandson had lost Rs.11.5 lakh while playing an online game. A case was registered and investigation taken up, during which it was found that the money from Asgar Ali’s bank account was transferred to a Singapore based online gaming company.

The Cyberabad Police contacted the Singapore based gaming company and held talks with its authorities, which resulted in the retrieval of the lost money. The whole process took about five months.

Asgar Ali’s happiness knew no boundaries when he recovered the money, which he thought he had lost. He thanked the Cyberabad Police for their responsiveness and help in recovering his hard earned money.
