Cyberabad police arrests two accused in Chandanagar jewellery heist, hunt on for others
Cyberabad police arrested two suspects in the daylight dacoity at Khazana Jewellery, Chandanagar. The accused, both from Bihar, allegedly helped a gang loot 10 kg of silver ornaments. Police said five others remain absconding and warned stores to strengthen security.
Hyderabad: The Cyberabad police on Saturday arrested two persons who were allegedly involved in the daylight dacoity at a jewellery store at Chandanagar.
The arrested are Aashish Kumar Singh (22) and Deepak Kumar Sah (22), both natives of Bihar.
According to the Dr. G Vineeth DCP (Madhapur), a total of seven persons were involved in the daylight heist at the Khazana jewellery store.
“One of the gang members opened fire at the store deputy manager Satish Kumar and looted 10 kg of silver ornaments including gold coated silver. Special teams were formed and two of the seven suspects were arrested,” said Dr. G Vineeth.
Deepak Kumar, is a resident of Jeedimetla and with his help the gang had managed to loot the shop. “The gang rented an accommodation in Jeedimetla, purchased two second hand bikes and conducted the recce of the showroom before striking,” said the official. Efforts are on to nab the remaining persons who are absconding.
The police advised the management of the jewellery store to have adequate security mechanisms in place during operational hours.
