Cyberabad police solve nine cybercrime cases, arrest 12 suspects
Between January 30 and February 5, Cyberabad Cybercrime Police solved nine cases and arrested 12 suspects across multiple States. Police have urged citizens not to pay for job offers and to report frauds via helpline 1930 or the cybercrime portal.
Hyderabad: The Cyberabad Cybercrime Police solved nine cybercrime cases and arrested 12 suspects from different States between January 30 and February 5.
Cybercrime officials said seven of the arrests were related to online trading frauds. During the same period, police secured 406 court refund orders in 58 cases, enabling the return of Rs 1.04 crore to victims.
In a significant case, police busted an online job fraud in which a woman was cheated of Rs 20.80 lakh after being promised a software developer position in a reputed multinational company. The suspects allegedly impersonated a job portal, conducted a fake interview, and collected money towards application and processing charges before cutting off contact.
Two suspects from Delhi were arrested in connection with the case.
Police have advised the public not to pay money for job offers and to report cyber fraud immediately through helpline 1930 or the cybercrime portal.
