Karimnagar: Principal Secretary, Social Welfare, Rahul Bojja informed that Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao has designed Dalit Bandhu programme for economic and social development of the poor Dalits across the state. Rahul Bojja conducted review meeting with mandal resource persons and district officials to discuss about the Dalit Bandhu scheme at the Collectorate conference hall here on Wednesday. Chief Minister is scheduled to launch the Dalit Bandhu scheme in Huzurabad on August 16.

Speaking on the occasion, Rahul Bojja said that under scheme, beneficiaries should select such self-employment schemes that would generate immediate employment. Chief Minister would distribute self-employment units to 20 selected beneficiaries from each village to mark the launch of the scheme. Interacting with resource persons, he enquired about the opinion of dalits on the scheme.

District Collector, RV Karnan informed that the scheme would be implemented across the State if it was successful in Huzurabad. Selection of beneficiaries for the scheme was more important. Beneficiaries should select self-employment that should generate income every month after sanction of units.

SC Corporation Chairman Banda Srinivas thanked the Chief Minister Chandrashekhar Rao for introducing Dalit Bandhu scheme to change the lives of Dalits. Self-employment units would be sanctioned to every Dalit family in the constituency, he said and urged the people to cooperate with the government machinery for the success of the programme.
