Finance Minister T Harish Rao addressing Dalit Bandhu special officers meeting held in Karimnagar on Wednesday.
Karimnagar: Finance Minister T Harish Rao advised members of survey teams to collect details of Dalit families in Huzurabad Assembly constituency with passion.
“You should consider yourself fortunate to take part in the survey of Dalit Bandhu which is going to change the lives of Dalits. The survey teams should collect details by bonding with the families,” he said.
Harish Rao along with Ministers Gangula Kamalakar and Koppula Eashwar and CMO Secretary Rahul Bojja conducted review meeting with special officers, cluster officers and bankers on Dalit Bandhu here on Wednesday.
The Minister said earlier, Dalits used to work as tractor drivers and labourers in dairies and other units. “They are now going to get an opportunity to become owners of tractors, establish dairies and other units,” he said.
If two sons of a Dalit are staying separately, they should be recorded as three families, he said, adding that there were 15 to 16 lakh Dalit families in the State and all would be provided the benefits of Dalit Bandhu.
The government, he said, decided to implement the scheme in Huzurabad on a pilot basis spending Rs 2,000 crore. All 20,000 dalit families in the segment would eventually get the benefits.
