Hyderabad: BRS turncoat MLA from Khairatabad Danam Nagender skipped Speaker G Prasad Kumar’s hearing on the disqualification petition on Friday. He has been directed to appear for the hearing on March 2.

On behalf of the MLA, his lawyers attended the cross-examination. The petitioner BRS MLA Padi Kaushik Reddy’s lawyers are learnt to have sought some information from Danam Nagender’s lawyers.

The reasons behind the Khairatabad MLA skipping the hearing are not known. It is still uncertain whether he would appear for the hearing on March 2.

Meanwhile, another BRS turncoat MLA from Station Ghanpur, Kadiyam Srihari, has been instructed to appear for the hearing on the disqualification petition on Saturday.

The Speaker has been asked to take a decision on the disqualification of the defected MLAs in a few weeks. He has already given a clean chit to eight other defected MLAs in the disqualification petition, citing lack of evidence.
