Khairatabad MLA Danam Nagender has dismissed speculation about his resignation, calling it false propaganda. The rumours gained traction after the Speaker concluded cross-examinations in the BRS disqualification case. Nagender and a few other defected MLAs are yet to submit affidavits reaffirming loyalty to BRS.
The BRS staged a walkout from the Business Advisory Committee meeting, protesting the Congress government’s move to restrict the monsoon Assembly session to two days. The party, backed by AIMIM, demanded a 15-day session to discuss farmers’ woes, student deaths, and floods
Jogulamba Gadwal MLA Bandla Krishna Mohan Reddy denied reports of joining the Congress, claiming he remains with the BRS. After receiving a defection notice from the Speaker, he said he would consult legal experts and follow orders from the court
It may be recalled that the Chief Minister had said that Chandrashekhar Rao was on a stretcher and would soon end up in the mortuary. Raising objections against his comments, complaints were lodged by BRS leaders against the Chief Minister at different police stations in the State.
People should have confidence in friendly policing and officials should follow protocol. An appeal was made to the Speaker to ensure such incidents do not recur.
The Congress party had appealed for discussions on welfare and development and the government was committed to holding the session for maximum days, he said here on Tuesday.
The BRS MLAs submitted a petition to him to this effect on behalf of the party leadership. MLAs Padi Kaushik Reddy, Kaleru Venkatesh, Mutha Gopal and a host of other leaders were part of the delegation. The speaker has assured them that he would look into the issue.
