Days turn hotter in Telangana as summer sets in

Hyderabad: Summer is slowly turning intense with temperatures in several parts of the State marching towards the 40 degree Celsius mark.

On Wednesday, parts of Ramagundam, Nizamabad, Adilabad, Bhadrachalam, Mahabubnagar, Medak, and Nalgonda witnessed temperatures hovering between 38 degree Celsius and 40 degree Celsius, while Nalgonda and Bhadrachalam recorded a maximum temperature of 41.5 degrees and 39.4 degrees respectively. According to IMD, the temperature in Hyderabad on Wednesday was already two degrees above normal at 37.4 degree Celsius.


According to the Indian Meteorological department (IMD), dry weather is expected to prevail and warnings of heat waves have been issued in Adilabad, Kumram Bheem Asifabad, Mancherial, Mulugu, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Warangal, Hanamkonda, Nalgonda, Nagarkurnool, Suryapet, Khammam, Mahabubabad and Nirmal from March 16 to 18.

Hyderabad witnessed high temperatures with many parts recording over 37 degree Celsius. During the nights, the mercury has been dipping considerably across the city and the minimum temperature was 20.1 degree Celsius.

Maximum temperatures are expected to hover around 38 degree Celsius, while minimum temperatures could prevail around 20 to 22 degree Celsius in the next three days, according to IMD.
