According to the police, the deceased Arelli Akhila (18), pursuing B Sc first year in Gayatrai Degree College at Peddapalli, had been asking parents an amount of Rs 2,000 to purchase new clothes for the last four days. As father Thirupathi delayed arranging the amount, she felt upset and took the extreme step. On Sunday afternoon, she went to their agricultural land and ended her life by jumping into the well. Passersby, who found the body of the girl in the well, informed the parents.
Learning about the incident, Kalwasrirampur police visited the spot and shifted the body to the hospital for postmortem. Thirupathi, the father of the girl, said that his daughter took the extreme step as he could not arrange money for her to purchase clothes.
