Delhi Public School celebrates Ugadi with traditional gaiety
The event started with the traditional lighting of a lamp with a sloka. It was then followed by a plethora of events, displaying the prowess of students through speeches, poems, songs and dance.

Delhi Public School, Nacharam celebrated the festival of Ugadi with great euphoria on April 10 portraying the meaning of the festival through a special assembly. The theme of the assembly was Plava Naama Samvatsara Ugadi Vedukalu. The blend of talent and information along with the beautiful compering was seen throughout the assembly.
Principal Sunitha Rao wished the gathering on the joyous occasion and praised the students’ dialect saying, “It was like music to the ears.” The assembly was conducted by the secondary school on a social platform and was witnessed by nearly 1,000 members including students and teachers. The event started with the traditional lighting of a lamp with a sloka. It was then followed by a plethora of events, displaying the prowess of students through speeches, poems, songs and dance. The gathering was also apprised about the benefits and medicinal qualities of the famous Ugadi Pachadi.
Along with the other Telugu traditions, the Panchangam was also read, conveying how the Telugu year ahead is going to go. The spotlight was a fabulous skit on Ashtavadhanam- it is about concentration and skill combined with spontaneous speaking talent. The culmination of the event was the showcasing of art integration in subjects through a mesmerizing dance form.
The assembly was concluded by the address of Vice-Principal Surekha Nayani. She congratulated the students on their brilliant performance and gave her best wishes for the upcoming New Year. Students and parents expressed thanked the school for organising the event to inculate culture and tradition in children.
