Hyderabad: Delhi Public School, Nadergul organised a session on manners and etiquettes for children of the pre-primary section. Manners are a sensitive awareness of the feelings of others. We believe in sensitizing the young ones from an early age.
They learn the magic words to start with followed by the awareness of sharing is caring and helping at home, the school said. With such an awareness event, little ones have become more independent and are eating on their own, the school added.
To make it fun, the kids were taught to make placemats for their dining. The creative kids had fun designing the mats with their favourite art. They learnt the correct way of setting the table and the placement of crockery and cutlery on the table mat.
The children were taught the basic etiquettes of coming to the table with clean hands and faces. They learnt the use of a napkin, how to sit straight, ensuring elbows are off the table. They were told the importance of chewing with their mouth closed and not to talk with their mouth full.
The little ones were taught how to help clear the table especially keeping their dishes away. They were encouraged to take the required amount and not waste any food. Also not to be fussy about food that was made. The children were taught to express their appreciation for the food cooked and for the person who cooked it.
