Sangreddy: Doctors of the Sangareddy Government Hospital Sangareddy on Thursday conducted a postmortem on the body of 45-day-old baby boy Dashwik at Konyala in Hathnoora mandal. The baby had died, reportedly due to dengue on September 8, and was buried on September 9 by family members without conducting a postmortem.

However, his father Chilipishetti Prabulingam had filed a complaint against Shishu Raksha Children’s Hospital in Sangareddy town where the child was admitted for treatment on September 5. Following the complaint, the police registered an FIR against the hospital management on September 13.

The district medical and health department officials also seized the lab at the hospital as the hospital declared the boy positive for dengue without conducting an Elisa test.

Hathnoora Tahsildar Fareena Sheik said the postmortem was conducted by Dr Venugopal Rao and Dr Deepak from the Sangareddy Government Hospital in the presence of the family members of the child, Revenue officials, police and elders from the village.

The samples would be sent to the forensic science laboratory to find out the reason behind the death. Action would be taken based on the report from FSL.

Prabulingam said they seek justice in the case. He said they wanted to see the people responsible for his son’s death punished.
