Kothagudem: A youth allegedly beat his father to death in Hanuman Basti area in Kothagudem town for refusing to give him money to consume liquor.

The incident took place late on Tuesday night. The deceased was identified as Goshika Komaraiah (57), a retired SCCL employee. He and his son Sivaprasad reportedly had an altercation when the latter demanded that his father give him Rs 200 to buy alcohol.

Komaraiah refused to give the money to his son, who in a fit of rage, hit his father on the head with a pestle. The elder man suffered a bleeding injury and died on the spot. Sivaprasad was absconding, police, who booked a case and launched an investigation, he said.
