Desi Jugaad: Man turns bike into ‘bio-bubble’, ensures social distancing during pandemic
A video shared on twitter by IPS officer Rupin Sharma, shows how a man has converted his bike into a ‘bio-bubble’, so as to shield himself and his pillion riders from the novel Coronavirus
Hyderabad: While the entire world is battling the deadly Covid virus, a few people have people have caught the attention with their unique ways of ‘staying away’ from the virus. While wearing masks, using sanitizers and ensuring personal hygiene has been considered as the standardised protocols for keeping the virus at bay, some people have gone the extra mile, with their innovative ways of fighting the virus.
A video shared on twitter by IPS officer Rupin Sharma, shows how a man has converted his bike into a ‘bio-bubble’, so as to shield himself and his pillion riders from the novel Coronavirus. The man’s ‘innovation’ has won applause from the netizens, with many hailing it as the perfect ‘Indian-way’ of dealing with the crisis. As seen in the video, the man set up his own ‘bio-bubble’ by using a makeshift structure of iron rods draped in plastic sheets, which he has apparently mounted on his bike to ensure safe travel.
In another instance of ‘Covid innovation’, the video of man sitting inside a metro, talking over phone, covering himself with a plastic box from all four sides have gone viral on twitter. While several users hailed it as a ‘perfect jugaad’ for ensuring Covid distance, some felt he resembled ‘Bappi Lahiri, but without gold chains!’.
Earlier, video of a couple from Begusarai in Bihar who used sticks to put garlands on each other to ensure social distancing also had gone viral on social medias. Adding one more to the list, Karnataka man who erected an aluminium sheet right behind the seat of his bicyle, to avoid ‘police lathis’ during lockdown hours, is yet another example of ‘Indian-Jugaads’ in difficult times.
In a video that is making rounds on social media, a man from #Karnataka’s Udupi was seen riding a cycle with makeshift rear protection, helmet and a mask to avoid thwacks of lathi from the police.
