Yadadri-Bhongir: The divine flag hoisting ritual of Dhwajarohanam which was meant symbolically inviting all Gods for brahmsotavams, was performed at Sri Lakshminarsimha Swamy temple (Balalayam) at Yadadri on second day of annual fete on Saturday.
Garudadhwaja (a flag with emblem of Garuda, the vehicle of Lord Vishnu), was hoisted on the Dwajasthambham (temple pillar) amidst chanting of Vedic hymns by the temple priests. After performing special pooja, Garuda muddha (prasadam made with the rice and other ingredients) was offered to Garuda by the temple priest as a part of the ritual.
The devotees competed to get the prasadam of Garuda mudha considering the belief that consuming it would solve infertility problem. Bheeri Puja was also conducted at the temple on the late evening of the day.
Endowments Commissioner Anil Kumar and Executive Officer of the temple N Geetha were also attended the fete.
