Digitalisation solution for optical retailers launched
Providing an end-to-end digital platform for optical retailers, ophthalmologists and big optical brands, OIC has developed different products packed into one product.
Hyderabad: In order to provide a complete digitalisation solution for the optical industry, Chennai-based Adhyas Software has launched OIC. Providing an end-to-end digital platform for optical retailers, ophthalmologists and big optical brands, OIC has developed different products packed into one product. It has products like customer app for retailers, business-to-business marketplace, Point of Sale (PoS) system, 2D virtual mirrors and 3D try-on app and also customer relationship management (CRM), less simulation software and also website development.
The company has shortlisted 4,000 retailers from the Southern region and targets to on-board these retailers by end of the year out of which 850-900 retailers will be from Hyderabad. “We started the company about 2.5 years back and have developed a multi-channel CRM, online marketplace and PoS system to digitize the retail trade to make it more effective, efficient and personal for the consumer. Retailers get their own personalised website with branding and digital marketing and also allow manufactures and wholesaler to discover retail customers,” said Vasan Sowriraja, founder and CEO, OIC apps.
The optical business is going to hit Rs 40,000-crore mark and according to the founder there are about 2,50,000 optical outlets pan-India. And although the industry has been growing at 7 per cent year-on-year, in terms of digitisation it is highly scattered, says Sowriraja.
“We are looking at major metro cities in our first phase of expansion and are also planning to launch our consumer app by April wherein consumers will have access to a detailed list of optical retailers nearby depending on their needs,” he said.
