Diljit Dosanjh’s Hyderabad concert faces restrictions: Telangana govt. bans songs promoting alcohol and violence
Diljit Dosanj who is to perform in Hyderabad on Friday has come under govenrment glare with restrictions being imposed. He is asked to not include children in his performance and not to sing songs promoting alcohol, drugs and violence.

Hyderabad: Telangana government has served a notice on Punjabi actor-singer Diljit Dosanjh asking him not to sing any songs promoting alcohol, drugs and violence during his much anticipated Dil-Luminati concert slated to be held in Hyderabad on Friday.
Music afficianados are going gaga over the concert by Diljit Dosanjh, who took the name of Dil-luminati for his programmes and tickets for the event have already been almost sold out.
However, the latest order served on the most popular singer could dampen the enthusiasm of the music buffs, as the Telangana government. The department of Welfare of Women and Children, Disabled and Senior Citizens of Ranga Reddy district has issued the order following a representation submitted by one Panditrao Dharenavar of Chandigarh.
The order explicitly also states that the programme organisers and the singer should not “use” children on stage during the live show.
The representation by Panditrao Dharenvar mentioned with video proofs that Diljit Dosanjh had sung songs promoting alcohol, drus and violence promoting songs (CASE, Panchatara, Patiala Pegg) during the live show in Jawaharlal Nehru statium in New Delhi on October 26 and 27.
“Therefore we are issuing this notice in advance to deter promoting alcohol / drugs/ violence through songs in your live show”, the order said.
The department has also pointed out that the concert guidelines stipulate that children below 13 year are allowed to the concert. The guidelines also say that concert may include loud sounds and flashing lights. “Both loud music and flashing lights are harmful for children”.
The notice also cited the World Health Organisation guidelines that adults should not be exposed to sounds with a peak sound pressure level above 140 db. For children the level is reduced to 120 db. Therefore, children should not be used on stage during the live showwhere peak sound pressure level is above 120db.
The order copy was also sent to the Cyberabad commissionerate, the SHO of Narsingi police station and to the complainant Panditrao Dharenvar.
Diljit Dosanjh has been on India tour having conducted a concert in Delhi on October 26.
