Kothagudem: The process of setting up a Trust Board for Sri Seetha Ramachandra Swamy Devasthanam and appointment of a chairperson is getting delayed due to lack of consensus among three district ministers in Khammam.
It might be noted that the State government in December 2024 issued a notification for constituting temple boards for sixteen temples of the 76 temples in the district and invited applications from aspirants for trustee positions. Each temple would have 14 members and with one of them to be the chairperson.
Following the notification a Trust Board for Peddammatalli Temple near Paloncha (Sri Kanaka Durga Devasthanam) in Kothagudem was constituted in March, 2025. But the same was not done in the case of Bhadradri Temple, much to the disappointment of devotees and aspirants who wished to secure a place in the board.
The government instead of setting up a full-fledged Trust Board has recently formed the Temple Utsav Committee with 14 persons as its members to monitor Sri Rama Navami and other celebrations at the temple.
Devotees are finding fault with the government for acting negligently in constituting the Trust Board for historical Sri Seetha Ramachandra Swamy Devasthanam, popularly called as ‘Dakshina Ayodhya’.
It is being said that there has been a discord among the three district ministers Bhatti Vikramarka, Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy and Tummala Nageswara Rao in finalising the names of the chairperson and trustees. The contention among them regarding the matter is delaying the constitution of the Trust Board.
With the government embarking on development of Bhadradri Temple and Bhadrachalam town as part of a Master Plan there is an immediate need to set up the Trust Board so that the works could be monitored effectively, opined Mahesh, a devotee of Bhadrachalam.
