Hyderabad: Governor Dr Tamilisai Soundararajan on Wednesday appealed to the IT companies, corporates, organisations and people to donate used laptops and tablet devices with all accessories which are in good working condition and no longer needed, for distributing to the student communities belonging to poor and downtrodden sections and enable them to have the access to online learning.
The students belonging to poorer sections across the State were deprived of online learning as they do not have either laptops or tablet devices and cannot afford to have them on their own, the Governor said adding that there is a huge requirement for such digital gadgets.
On the other hand, there were a lot of laptops and tablets which were in working condition gathering dust in IT companies and people’s houses, she said.
The IT companies, corporates, and people can send emails to rajbhavan-hyd@gov.in with the information about the name of the organisation/person, address, contact phone/mobile numbers, the number of laptops/ tablets they want to donate, etc.
“I also appeal to the students belonging to poor and downtrodden sections who are in need of laptops/ tablets for attending online learning to send their request through email to rajbhavan-hyd@gov.in with the information consisting of their name, address, contact phone/mobile number, class/course pursuing, name of the college, address of the college, contact phone/mobile number of the college duly uploading the bonafide certificate from their college,” she said.
