Karimnagar: BC Welfare and Civil Supplies Minister Gangula Kamalakar said people should not have any doubts about the quality of Covid-19 vaccine. “It is 100 per cent safe and will help people from the pandemic,” he said.

The Minister was speaking after taking the first dose of vaccine at RTC workshop hospital here on Monday. Interacting with hospital staff, he enquired about the vaccination process and instructed the authorities to ensure availability of the vaccine.

Kamalakar said besides taking the vaccine, people should wear face masks, maintain physical distance and wash hands frequently to protect themselves from coronavirus.

The mortality rate on account of Covid-19 was not much but everyone must take the vaccine to protect others, he said, adding that it was necessary to exercise and do yoga regularly besides taking nutritious food.

“According to scientists, the virus has also been spreading through the air. So, people must wear masks even in houses as well apartments and residential complexes, Kamalakar said.

Stating that all necessary arrangements including required beds and medicines were made available in government hospitals, he said steps have also been taken to ensure that private hospitals do not fleece patients.

“Stringent action would be taken if any hospital charges patients excessively,” he said.
