Hyderabad: As part of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s efforts to make fitness an integral part of Indian lives, the Fit India movement was initiated in August 2019. Focusing on bringing behavioural changes and moving towards a physically active lifestyle, the programme focuses on young India and encourages sports and fitness across schools and colleges of the country. Fit India Mission encourages people to join the Fit India Movement by incorporating 30-60 minutes of physical activity into their daily routine.
To commemorate the 75th Independence Day – “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav”, Fit India Mission had conceptualized Fit India Freedom Run 2.0 and Delhi Public School, Nadergul organised the event with much flair. The torch-bearers of future India, the school prefectorial board, took part in the ‘Fit India Freedom Run’ organised in mid-August at the school ground. Students received certificates for their enthusiastic participation in building a fit nation through this involvement; motivating all the spectators in the process and being an idol for the youngsters.
The FIT India mission proposes the involvement of school children in these initiatives towards a healthier India and DPS Nadergul also believes in the same, the school said. It strives to promote a physically active lifestyle among students with many campaigns and activities like this and to encourage fitness.
