The skill development programme at DPS Nacharam pre-primary got overwhelming response. The school said that the age 3 to 5 group is a period of tremendous cognitive growth. Children at this age undergo a large amount of change very quickly and are learning to see the world in many new and interesting ways. It is important to have these fundamental skills from this early stage to be successful later. It is important to begin teaching kids critical thinking, communication and other core skills at this early age.
As we always focus on catering to the needs of students in different ways using different learning styles, we followed it during the skill development to establish the core skills, the school added.
As a part of the skill development programme at the school, the third day started with aerobics, as it helps children keep their heart, lungs, and blood vessels healthy. Thsis was followed by a craft activity of building a nest to showcase their creative skills, coordination and fine motor skills. Children learn new things, like sounds, words and patterns through music. To enhance these skills music was conducted.
The day ended with a virtual tour of “Our flying friends” (the birds). The kids enjoyed the videos of beautiful birds of paradise with their binoculars on. Children were given insight into the habitat, behaviour of different birds and some interesting facts. Overall, it was a fruitful day for the children with a lot of learning and enjoyment.
