Hyderabad: Over 900 unauthorised structures were identified and demolished by the District Task Forces (DTFs) set up in 141 urban local bodies across the State in their respective limits.
So far, the DTFs have demolished 459 unauthorised structures in different municipalities and 468 structures under Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) limits, totaling to demolition of 927 unauthorised structures.
As part of the effective implementation of Telangana State Building Permission Approval and Self-Certification (TS-bPASS), DTFs were set up following instructions from Municipal Administration and Urban Development Special Chief Secretary Arvind Kumar to District Collectors to constitute these teams, a CDMA press release on Wednesday said.
District Collectors were instructed to constitute DTFs at district level to monitor and identify unauthorised constructions, layouts and initiate action accordingly. Subsequently, 141 teams with about 700 persons, including officials from revenue, police, fire services and roads and buildings, besides hiring a few outsourced employees, were constituted.
These teams will monitor online TS-bPASS portal, social media and emails for any complaints regarding unauthorised structures. After thoroughly checking the details for three days, the teams will take up demolition of the structures. This apart, the teams move around once every 15 days to identify unauthorised structures and initiate action accordingly.
