Hyderabad: DVSR Murthy, an officer of the 1998 batch of the Indian Postal Service (IPoS), assumed charge as the Chief Postmaster General of Telangana Circle on Tuesday.
DVSR Murthy, a Computer Science engineer from Gitam Engineering College, Visakhapatnam, is a native of Guntur district in Andhra Pradesh.
The officer joined the Department of Posts as an Indian Postal Service officer in 1998. During the initial years as a JTS/STS officer, DVSR Murthy worked in several positions, including SSRM, Air Mail Sorting, Mumbai.
Later, in the capacity of a JAG officer, he served as DPS-Chennai and DPS-Vijayawada Region.
DVSR Murthy was promoted to the Higher Administrative Grade (HAG) and served as Chief Postmaster General of the J&K Postal Circle from 2025 until his transfer to the Telangana Postal Circle.
