Hyderabad: Bengaluru-based electric mobility startup E3 Electric.Ai has commenced production of its electric scooter, E3 Trion, at its manufacturing facility in Hyderabad.

The company said customer deliveries of the scooter would begin in batches from October 7, coinciding with its second anniversary. The first 100 customers will form the company’s founding-owner community, it said.

The E3 Trion will be available in three variants, C1, C1X and C2, aimed at youngsters, families and business users, respectively. The scooter will be offered in six colours: Nova Blue, Teal Blue, Graphite Grey, Misty Green, Solar Red and Luna White.

According to the company, the electric scooter underwent more than 550 Design Validation Plan tests as part of its development programme. These included power and range testing, brake-pressure sensor validation and other checks.

The Trion also underwent accelerated durability testing with a 205-kg payload, along with water-wading tests at depths ranging from 100 mm to 300 mm. The company said the scooter was also subjected to heavy rainstorm and water-wash testing.

As part of its road trials, the scooter completed a 260-km round trip between Bengaluru and Hogenakkal, covering mountain roads, sharp bends, gradients and rough surfaces.

E3 Electric.Ai Founder and CEO Sanjeev P said the company had focused on durability and testing under conditions representative of Indian roads before commencing production.

The first 100 customers will receive an extended warranty covering the battery and key components for eight years or 1 lakh km, whichever is earlier. They will also receive one year of roadside assistance under the company’s E3 Wingman programme.

The complimentary package is valued at Rs 6,500 for the C1 with its 2.3 kWh battery and Rs 8,500 for the C1X and C2, which use 3 kWh batteries.
