EAGLE Force seizes 41 kg ganja, arrests three in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: The Elite Action Group for Drug Law Enforcement (EAGLE Force), Telangana, seized 41.01 kg of ganja worth an estimated Rs 20.5 lakh and arrested three employees of a private travel bus for allegedly transporting the contraband from Odisha to Hyderabad. Along with the ganja, the police seized the private travel bus and four mobile phones.
Acting on specific information, the police intercepted the private travel bus near Mahaveer Harina Vanasthali National Park at Auto Nagar on Saturday and recovered two bags containing 41.01 kg of ganja.
The arrested persons were identified as Laxman Kurami (22), a bus helper from Malkangiri district, Komala Khil (32), the driver from Koraput district, and Bubu Madakami (33), the conductor from Malkangiri district, all residents of Odisha.
According to the police, the three were allegedly transporting the contraband from Malkangiri to Hyderabad for a commission in collusion with an associate identified as Nubin of Malkangiri. The consignment was to be delivered to an unidentified recipient in Hyderabad.
Police said Nubin and the intended recipient were absconding.
