Karimnagar: Public representatives and cadres from the ruling TRS on Sunday said former Health Minister Eatala Rajender had adopted a ‘divide and rule’ policy in the Huzurabad Assembly constituency besides suppressing the second rung leadership for his own political gains.
“Rajender created rifts between local leaders and workers for his own political gains. He misused the high position he held in government to amass wealth illegally at the cost of the development of the constituency. As a result, a number of problems have been left unsolved,” the TRS leaders informed BC Welfare and Civil Supplies Minister Gangula Kamalakar.
The flow of public representatives and TRS leaders from the constituency to Kamalakar’s residence in Karimnagar continued on Sunday too. Sarpanches, MPTCs, municipal councilors, TRS leaders and workers from Huzurabad continue to meet with Kamalakar every day to express their solidarity with the party leadership in the wake of the recently changed political matrix after Eatala Rajender was dropped from the Cabinet.
To show their solidarity with the ruling party and its leadership, public representatives and party cadres from Senigaram of Kamalapur mandal and Maripalli of Jammikunta mandal met Kamalakar on Sunday and explained the problems in the villages due to the negligence of the local MLA.
The group expressed the sentiment that they had gained real freedom after the dropping of Rajender from the State Cabinet. No leader from Rajender’s own Kamalapur mandal was with him and all of them are supporting the leadership of Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao, they asserted.
Explaining the problems, they urged Kamalakar to resume Bhagiratha lift irrigation scheme under the farmers’ contribution programme and lay a road up to the check dam in Senigram. Kamalakar assured that all problems in the constituency would be resolved. Asking the workers not to worry, he informed them that the party will protect the interests of the cadre. Local leaders Pingali Pradeep Reddy, Senigaram sarpanch Pingali Ravali Ranjith Reddy, deputy sarpanch Mekala Thirupathi, and Maripalli workers Ravula Sammaiah, Chandaboina Ravinder and others participated in the programme.
Eatala supporters, TRS get into argument
Arguments broke out between TRS workers and supporters of local MLA and former Minister Eatala Rajender over organising a press meet in Veenavanka on Sunday.
TRS leaders led by Jammikunta Market Committee Chairman Vala Balakishan Rao organised a press meet against Rajender and extended their solidarity to the party leadership. Meanwhile, supporters of Rajender reached the venue and entered into an argument with TRS leaders for criticising their leader.
On coming to know about the incident, police rushed to the spot and brought the situation under control.
