The democratic forces requested Rajender not to join the BJP but he ignored the plea, said Jagan.
Hyderabad: The State committee of Communist Party of India (Maoist) on Wednesday said former MLA Eatala Rajender joined the BJP only to protect his properties and not to fight for the self-respect of the people of Telangana.
In a statement, Telangana State committee Maoist party official spokesperson Jagan took exception to Rajender’s statement that the Radical Students Union (RSU) and Maoist party would support him in the Huzurabad Assembly constituency by-election. The democratic forces requested Rajender not to join the BJP but he ignored the plea, he said.
Stating that Rajender tried to consolidate his properties while he was a Minister, he said: “When he was a Minister, he forcibly took assigned lands from villagers. Rajender announced that he would fight against feudal domination but joined the BJP to protect his properties.”
“Rajender is trying to win the Huzurabad by-election seat saying that he is fighting for self-respect of Telangana. But he is deceiving the people,” Jagan said, adding that the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and RSU would continue to be rivals in the country because of ideological differences.
He said the RSU would always oppose the policies of RSS, which supports the BJP. The Maoist party was targeting RSS and BJP and under these circumstances, Rajender joined the BJP saying that he would continue to fight for the self-respect of Telangana people. “This is nothing but deceiving the people,” Jagan said.
