Karimnagar: Eight over speed challans are pending against the car, which killed four women when it rammed through roadside shops near Kaman chowk of Karimnagar town on Sunday morning.
A total of nine challans were pending on the car. Out of nine, eight were over speeding challans. While disclosing details about the accident, Commissioner of Police V Satyanarayana has also confirmed that eight over speed challans were pending on the car.
Though it is a crime to give vehicles to minors, owner of the car Kachakayala Rajendraprasad used to give vehicles to his minor son, who used to drive car rashly.
According to an eye witness, the car was moving around 120 kilometers per hour when the vehicle hit roadside temporary shops at around 6.45 am. However, police claimed that the car was moving at around 60 to 70 kilometers per hour.
It is learnt that the accident occurred because of a video shoot being recorded inside the moving car. Three minor boys traveled in the car. In a process to record video shoot, 16 year old boy, who was driving the car, recorded video shoot with his mobile phone by leaving steering.
In the process, the vehicle drove towards the footpath. The driver tried to apply a brake. However, he pressed the accelerator in confusion and subsequently the car rammed into roadside shops, it is learnt.
When asked about recording of video shoot in the car at the time of the accident, CP informed that they were also investigating the case from that angle too.
