Khammam: Elaborate arrangements have been made for the Warangal-Khammam-Nalgonda Teachers’ constituency MLC elections in the district on February 27, District Collector Muzammil Khan said.
He said 24 polling stations have been set up for the elections. Sector officers, presiding officers, assistant presiding officers, micro observers and OPOs have been appointed and trained in conducting polling by master trainers.
Officers were made aware of the preparation of ballot papers, ballot boxes, statutory and non-statutory materials, filling of election-related reports and recording of diaries besides hands-on training on sealing of ballot boxes, the Collector said.
A plan has been prepared to move the ballot boxes directly to Nalgonda after the polling was over. The ballot boxes and ballot papers required for the elections were readied. Steps have been taken to ensure uninterrupted power supply at the polling stations, Khan said.
The Collector said steps have been taken to provide reports every two hours on the polling day. Tight security arrangements have been made by the police department at all the polling stations, he added.
