Hyderabad: Gajawada Manohar, a divisional engineer (commercial) of TSSPDCL, was caught red-handed in his office chambers in Mint Compound near Secretariat here on Thursday by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) when he allegedly demanded and accepted a bribe of Rs.35,000 from a complainant Bollaram Bal Narasimha, who is an electrical contractor, for doing an official favour.
Manohar allegedly demanded bribe from Narasimha to process the file pertaining to sanction of extension of supply of 5KW non-domestic load under LT category-II for a real-estate venture in Bibinagar in Yadadri-Bhongir district.
Manohar was posted at the office of chief general manager (commercial) TSSPDCL corporate office in Mint Compound. The ACB officials recovered the tainted amount from the possession of Manohar. The officials produced him before the special court for ACB cases after which he was remanded into judicial remand.
