Kothagudem: The closure of a chit fund company has allegedly cost the life of its employee at Bhadrachalam in the district.
The employee G Srinivas (33), a resident of Rickshaw Colony in Bhadrachalam town allegedly hanged himself to death at his residence on Saturday. In a suicide note he purportedly left behind, Srinivas said that he worked in Kamala Durga Chit Fund Private Limited for four years and helped many join various chit fund schemes.
After the company closed, the customers approached the company branch manager V Ramu seeking their invested money and he told them to contact Srinivas as he had enrolled them in the chit fund schemes. He also wrote that several customers started mentally harassing him for their money and he managed to arrange money for a few of them.
Srinivas further noted that a few customers on Friday threatened him in the local police station and demanded him to return their entire deposit within five days. “I am ending my life as I cannot cope with the pressure. I also want action against those who are responsible for my death,” he signed off the suicide letter.
