Rajanna-Sircilla: Endowment Minister Konda Surekha has issued a statement claiming that there was no truth in the news that kodelu (bulls) of Sri Rajarajeshwara Swamy temple, Vemulawada, were sold illegally.
Calling reports of such sale false, she said there was a conspiracy behind such reports being circulated. In order to give bulls to farmers, a committee was formed to finalize the norms in May this year. While the Collector was the Chairman of the committee, the temple EO is convener. A GO was also issued. Based on the committee’s guidelines, kodelu were being given to farmers by verifying pattadar passbooks, Aadhar cards, phone numbers and the certificates issued by mandal agriculture officers. Only two bulls each were being given to farmers.
On the recommendation letter endorsed by her, Surekha said she usually referred applications she got from the public to officials and the application for the bulls was forwarded in the same way. Temple authorities had allocated the bulls following norms, she said, denying any irregularity in the allocation of bulls.
