Ensure peaceful Ganesh idol immersions, GHMC Commissioner tells officials

Hyderabad: GHMC Commissioner RV Karnan instructed officials across various wings responsible for Ganesh idol immersions to conduct fieled inspections and hold review meetings to ensure the forthcoming immersions are conducted in a peaceful and devotional atmosphere.
The Commissioner inspected artificial ponds and reviewed arrangements such as barricades, sanitation, queue lines, lighting and deployment of cranes. He inspected excavation work of a pond at Sanathnagar Sports Complex, baby pond at People’s Plaza on Necklace Road, as well as portable ponds arranged at Ameerpet and Nampally Exhibition Grounds.
Meanwhile, Hyderabad Police Commissioner CV Anand conducted a surprise inspection of Ganesh pandals in old city on Friday night. He inspected security arrangements and advised pandal organisers to take appropriate precautions, as there is a risk of accidents due to the ongoing rains.
