Kothagudem: Superintendent of Police B Rohit Raju held a meeting with the officers of all the banks in the district here on Tuesday to review security arrangements at the banks
The meeting was organised with the intention of making tight security arrangements at the banks in view of the recent bank robberies in Warangal and Bidar areas; to ensure that such incidents do not happen in the district, he said.
The SP suggested that CCTV cameras should be installed at all places inside and outside the banks. People should be made aware of the importance of security alarms in banks. Proper precautions should be taken while loading cash in ATMs and that the CCTV cameras should be checked from time to time to ensure that they are working properly.
As part of social responsibility, banks should also organise regular awareness programmes for the people of the district on cybercrimes. As part of that pamphlets and wall posters have to be prepared and displayed at important places, he suggested.
The bank officials should take steps in coordination with the police department to ensure that the individuals who have lost money due to cybercrimes receive the money frozen in the accounts of the criminals as soon as possible, Rohith Raju noted.
