Nineteen Maoists surrender before police in Telangana’s Kothagudem
They surrendered before Superintendent of Police B Rohith Raju, CRPF 81 battalion and 141 battalion officials at Bhadrachalam

Kothagudem: In a setback to the CPI (Maoist) party, 19 naxals from Chhattisgarh surrendered before the police in Kothagudem on Thursday.
They surrendered before Superintendent of Police B Rohith Raju, CRPF 81 battalion and 141 battalion officials at Bhadrachalam.
The Maoist agriculture team south Bastar divisional committee member Naroti Manish, PLGA 1st battalion People’s Party Committee Members (PPCM) Madvi Nanda and Madvi Handa, the battalions People’s Militia member Madvi Hadama and Nimmalagudem Revolutionary People’s Committee commander Madakam Deva were among the surrendered naxals, the SP informed.
Naroti Manish carries a cash reward of Rs 8 lakh while Madvi Nanda and Madvi Handa carry a cash reward of Rs 4 lakh each. They were given the cash cheques of the reward amount by the SP Rohith Raju
He told the media that in January, an Athmeeya Sammelanam was organised with the family members of the surrendered Maoists at Cherla to explain about the benefits of surrendering to police and schemes offered by the government to live a normal life. In that programme, 22 Maoists surrendered before the police.
The above Maoists realised that that party has lost support of adivasis, extorting money and hindering development of agency villages and surrendered to police, Rohith Raju said. He appealed to underground naxals to quit the party and surrender to police to join mainstream life.
Additional SP (Operations) Paritosh Pankaj, Bhadrachalam ASP Vikranth Singh, CRPF 141 Bn second-in-command Preetha, 81 Bn deputy commandant Rajesh Dogra, Manugur DSP Ravinder Reddy, CIs, Ashok, Raju Varma and Ashok Reddy were present.
