Warangal Urban: Coming down heavily on the Central government, Minister for Panchayat Raj and Rural Development Errabelli Dayakar Rao on Monday said the BJP led Union government had done nothing for the development of the newly formed Telangana State. “While the Centre is adopting anti-farmer policies, the State government has been implementing many welfare schemes for farmers,” he said.
He said BJP won Dubbak Assembly seat in the recent bypoll by making false promises, and called upon the farmers to get ready to wage a battle against the anti-farmers’ policies of the BJP government at the Centre.
Addressing a press conference along with Minister Women, Child and Tribal Welfare Satyavathi Rathod here, Rao said the Central government was supposed to release Rs one lakh crore to Telangana government. “But it has not even released any fund for the relief of flood victims in the State. There is no use of the Central government sponsored schemes in the State,” he said, adding that both the State and Central leaders of the BJP were resorting to false allegations against the Telangana government.
“We are taking all steps for the development of the Hyderabad city besides providing financial assistance to the flood victims. But the Congress party leaders, who have not extended any assistance to the flood victims, are trying resorting to mudslinging against the TRS government,” he added. Referring to the low price for the crops, Rao alleged that the Centre had also failed to provide remunerative price to the paddy and other crops.
“Though the State government led by Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao is ready to give a hike to the MSP of the fine varieties paddy (Sanna rakam), the Centre is not cooperating with the State government. The Central government is cheating the Telangana government,” he alleged.
Expressing similar views, Minister Satyavathi Rathod alleged that the Centre had not extended any financial support to the flood victims of Telangana State. “It has also failed to construct the national highways in the State,” she alleged and asked the BJP to desist from making the false propaganda.
