Jagitial: Panchayat Raj and Rural Development Minister Errabelli Dayakar Rao appealed the people to develop their villages as models villages by participating in Palle Pragathi programme in a big way.
Dayakar Rao participated in Palle Pragathi programmes and other developmental works in Jagitial and Korutla constituencies on Tuesday. As part of Palle Nidra, the Minister along with local MLA Dr Sanjay Kumar stayed in Habsipur of Jagitial rural mandal on Monday night and attended grama sabha on Tuesday morning.
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister opined that the works being done as part of Palle Pragathi were not up to the mark. Garbage has not been cleared regularly in SC colonies and the houses which were in a dilapidated condition, also were not demolished.
People staying in old houses should keep their localities clean to prevent mosquitoes and insects, he advised and wanted the people to clear garbage, plant trees, clear dilapidated houses as part of Palle Pragathi.
Listing out various welfare schemes being implemented by the State government, Dayakar Rao said despite the financial crisis developed due to Covid pandemic, all welfare and developmental programmes were continued without any disturbance. He said the age limit for the old age pension was reduced to 57 from 60.
He said the drinking water problem was solved by completing Mission Bhagiratha scheme by spending Rs 40,000 crore. Protected drinking water is being supplied to each and every household through tap connection. Similarly, uninterrupted power was being supplied to agriculture sector ending the woes of farmers after the State formation. “Farmers used to be in a dilemma whether they would get water due to construction of irrigation projects in neighbouring States. But irrigation water troubles have been solved with the construction of Kaleshwaram lift irrigation scheme. Besides filling all water bodies, Godavari River water is also being supplied for drinking purposes,” he added.
In order to provide a facility to perform funerals of all communities at one place without any troubles, graveyards were developed in all villages, he informed and instructed officials to arrange green fences around graveyards. Dry and wet garbage was being collected separately in all villages and it is being used to manufacture compost manure, he informed and appreciated public representatives and officials for taking initiatives to manufacture vermi-compost with garbage.
Instead of small trees, he suggested for planting sapling varieties that will grow into big size trees in villages by allocating 10 percent budget from gram panchayat funds.
Special committees should be constituted with youth, elderly persons and retired employees as members to take steps for the development of villages, he advised and requested the NRIS to contribute for their village development. Names of the donors should be displayed in gram panchayat premises, he said. Around Rs 1,000 crore was allocated for the development of gram panchayats.
In order to provide quality education to poor students, the government has developed all government schools by spending Rs 10,000 crore. Proposals were prepared to give Rs 10 lakh financial assistance to each dalit family, the Minister informed.
Minister to tour Mancherial on Wednesday
Mancherial: Panchayat Raj Minister Errabelli Dayakar Rao will tour the district and take part in the fourth phase of Palle Pragathi programme on Wednesday.
According to a press statement, Dayakar Rao along with Government Whip Balka Suman will participate in the initiative aimed at overall development of rural parts at Kishtampet village in Chennur mandal at 9 am and will take part in the seventh edition of Telangana ku Harita Haram at Joduvagula village in the similar mandal at 11 am.
The minister, accompanied by Mancherial MLA N Diwakar Rao, will later participate in the Palle Pragathi programme to be held at Venkatraopet village in Luxettipet mandal at 12 in the noon.
