Yadadri-Bhongir: Telangana State Commission for the Protection of Child Rights Chairman J Srinivasa Rao on Tuesday said that officials from all departments should work in coordination for protection of child rights.
Launching Bal Adalat here, Srinivasa Rao said there was a need to focus on protection of child rights in the rural areas as well as in urban areas. “In this regard, efforts are on to extend the services of the commission to rural areas too in the State,” he said, adding that Child Welfare Committees were functioning at the district level. Police and education departments also have a crucial role to play in protection of child rights.
He said that all the departments should work in coordination to prevent child marriages and child labour that were major issues in protection of child rights.
Additional District Collector Deepak Tiwari said the Covid pandemic affected the functioning of Anganwadi centres and schools for the last one and half years. Bal Adalats would help in addressing the issues related to education and healths of the children, he added.

We are also conducting counseling for parents of the child labourers and impressing upon them to send their children to schools.
