Hyderabad: Former State football player Mohammed Vazir Khan passed away due to Covid-19, on Saturday. He is survived by his wife, son, and three daughters.
Vazir Khan made his debut for the State in the sub-junior category in 1979. He was also a member of the first batch of sports hostel in LB Stadium. He led the State team (combined Andhra Pradesh) in the junior category at nationals held in Kochi. He then joined the State Bank of Hyderabad and played in All India football tournaments for the Andhra Pradesh State football team as SBH team. He retired from the SBI, Aliabad branch in November last.
Telangana Football Association president Mohd Ali Rafath and secretary GP Palguna and others condoled the death of Vazir Khan.
