Excess billing: Five hospitals in Hyderabad lose permission to treat Covid

The hospitals which lose permission were Virinchi Hospitals, Banjara Hills, Vinn Hospital, Begumpet, TX Hospital, Kachiguda, Neelima Hospital, Sanathnagar and Max Health hospital, Kukatpally

Hyderabad: The Director of Public Health and Family Welfare on Friday issued orders revoking the permission given to five hospitals in the city to treat Covid-19 patients.

These were Virinchi Hospitals, Banjara Hills, Vinn Hospital, Begumpet, TX Hospital, Kachiguda, Neelima Hospital, Sanathnagar and Max Health hospital, Kukatpally.


All the hospitals had complaints against them alleging inappropriate and excess billing. The DPH said show cause notices were issued to the hospitals asking for an explanation within 24 hours. With the hospitals failing to submit any explanation within the stipulated time, the permission given for providing Covid-19 treatment was being revoked, the orders said.
