Expedite check dam works under Ranganayaka Sagar : Harish to officials
Asking the officials to concentrate on providing irrigation water to villages located the other side of Peddavagu, Rao has enquired about the progress of the 22-KM long canal that is being dug in Naganur mandal.

Siddipet: Finance Minister T Harish Rao instructed the irrigation officials to complete the construction of check dams on major streams and canals under Ranganayaka Sagar project in Nanganur Mandal as early as possible. As the monsoon is fast approaching and the farmers were preparing to start the sowing, Rao has suggested them to complete the works before the agriculture activity commences in these parts of the district.
Saying that they took up the construction of a couple of check dams across two major streams with an outlay of Rs 10 crores at Khata and Dargapally villages on Pedda Vagu and Siddipet Vagu respectively, Rao has said that he wanted them to complete before the Vanakalam agriculture operation commences.

He has directed them to put all efforts to complete the canals and check dams to fill all the irrigation tanks in Siddipet Constituency in earliest possible time. Saying that they wanted to provide irrigation water to the last acre of the land, the Minister has said that they aimed to put Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Scheme (KLIS) water to best use.
Superintending Engineer Basavaraj, Executive Engineer Gopala Krishna, Deputy Engineer Chandrashekar, Assistant Engineer MD Khaja Moinuddin, Contractors, local leader and farmers were present.
